Book signing event

In November, I will be hosting my first book signing event.

The manager of our local Library, Museum & Arts Centre has offered me one of their activity rooms, free of charge, for two hours on the morning of Saturday 19 November. The rooms are situated off the main foyer and therefore in direct sight of anyone entering the building.

I’ve never done anything like this before, so arranging it is going to be a steep learning curve, but feedback so far has been very encouraging. I’m both nervous and excited about the prospect of talking with people about my books, and hopefully some of them might even buy a copy!

At the moment, I’ve only sent out invitations via my Facebook page, but I plan on commissioning some posters to advertise the event, and will be contacting our local paper next month to ensure that they cover it too.

In the meantime, if you have any advice or suggestions on any aspect of planning this event, please share!

I was thinking. Maybe a “register your e-mail for a chance to win” something. Maybe your next book as you want them to buy your first one. Or a gift of some kind. That way you add your customer base for the second and third. just a thought.
    Have lots of fun planning.

  3. Bookmarks are nice. You can walk around if not busy. Introduce yourself and hand them out.
